Before the Potter books, I used to read but not that much. Once I started reading the first book, I was presented with this awesome, fantastic world and since then I can say I LOVE BOOKS. Harry Potter helped me go through sooo much: my parent’s divorce, bullies, being different than most people. I found refuge in avid readers and Harry Potter fans! Now I’m married with a husband that loves me for me and who also loves Harry Potter, what more could a girl ask for?

Each book of Potter is my horcrux. As I finish rereading each one (for the third time) before the final ending - they explode. When I finish rereading Deathly Hallows & see Part Two in theaters on July 15th… I will die, for there will no longer be a soul left in me.

I’ve realized a lot of things about myself while reading the 7 books. And I’ve learned to be stronger from it. I am a witch in real life and Harry Potter has helped me by banishing (somewhat) the stereotype. The books have gotten me through some bad times. They’ve allowed me to make friends. But most importantly to me, they’ve showed me my true nature and that it is okay. I have a dark side. I am a Slytherin. I am a Death Eater. But I am not a bad person. I am like Snape and have never been happier since I realized that. There’s a darkness in all of us but it’s what we do with it that matters. If you try to hurt the people I love then you’re going to be wishing that you hadn’t. But that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t rather try to make peace. My true nature is like Snape. You can debate it all you want but I am who I am. Because of him I’ve adopted a ‘if you don’t like it then leave it alone’ attitude which has helped me become not just more comfortable with my personality and quirks but also with my body and self image. Because I don’t need to look like a model. I don’t need to be physically beautiful to have people love me. Because no one is Harry Potter was. They all had their faults, in other words they were human. They were something real to aspire to. And I thank JK Rowling for showing us people who are good role models for all of us. I <3 Harry Potter.

Harry Potter is the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I think of before going to bed. My friends are surprised I don’t have a shrine yet (that’s for after DH2) but I am giving a speech at the midnight premier. It ends like this: “Harry Potter will never die as long as those who remain are LOYAL TO HIM”
